7th GLOBAL DAY 6th -7th -8th February 2007

LESS BABBLING

ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE,

MORE TEXT MESSAGING IN PUBLIC PLACES

Phil Marso, an independant French writer started this citizenship meeting since February, the 6th 2001. The idea is to dedicate 3 days to thinking about the mobile phone as a technology that has changed human behaviour in its approach to communication. 6 Global Days with no Mobile Phone have already taken place on Saint Gaston’s day on February the 6th as a reference to famous French singer Nino Ferrer and his song relating to Gaston and his ringing telephone no one will answer. They all are an opportunity to debate and think through the medias around this communication tool. For the 7th edition, the writer Phil Marso will organise:

(LESS) BABBLING ON THE MOBILE PHONE (MORE) TEXT MESSAGING IN PUBLIC PLACES. FEBRUARY 6th-7th-8th  2007.

This 7th edition with emphasize on the health aspects with a precautionary message to protect your health:

« NO MORE THAN 2 MINUTES ON MY MOBILE PHONE,  NO MORE HEADAKE FOR MY BRAIN CELLS».

This debate will allow to tackle a few yet not all questions/reflections regarding this aspect:

-         Your Mobile Phone is not a reality-phone!

-         The Mobile Phone is not a resonance chamber for multi-sound acoustic!

-         Sending text messages is more discrete.

-         Stop sending images and protect them

-      Is Wifi bringing more risks to your health?

-      Base station antennas are a time bomb to health: 100% citizenship awareness!

-      The Mobile Phone, a surveillance tool !

Mobilou.info, the official website for the "Journée Mondiale moins de blabla… " is displaying up till the February, the 6th -7th -8th  2007 some humourous surveys. The first 6 editions have been widely communicated in Canada, Belgium, Suitzerland, France, Spain, Finland and on the internet... In 2006, Phil Marso moved the event to Bruxelles.

We invite the medias to take advantage of those 3 days to launch a debate. Clubs and Associations against the illegal set-up of more base station antennas support this movement. The “Robin des Toits”, Teslabel, Agir pour l'Environnement Association is supportive of this movement.
